BELARUS WONDERS
Dar es salaam
Cheupe Nyati,
Of all the wonderful
setups found at the 19th International Trade
Exhibition to East Africa held in Dar es salaam last week, it was the national
centre for marketing and price study of
the Republic of Belarus.
The place though tiny was overcrowded with people who were
asking for more contacts to a lady who singly handled the matters and the
affairs. Her identity was simply Koslova
who dished out brochures, booklets, fliers and cds from various Belarus
companies.
Ms Koslova said that her country, trades without borders
through that centre which is part of the
Foreign Ministry at Minsk. It is geared towards providing information support on business,
exhibition and congress activities,
marketing services and publishing information to assist procurements and exports.
Ms Koslova in an exclusive interview, “With comprehensive research
on goods and market services we are always able to identify and make analysis on
potential partners wherever we set our foot.” She could not tell the potentials
found in Tanzania and in the East African Zone.
The centre which is along the Pobediteley Avenue in the city
of Minsk, is always organizing mobile monitoring groups which visit Africa,
Latin America and Asia aiming at making regional studies on goods and
services and business meetings.
Belarus is a country with heavy industries and has a good special
focus on agriculture. The centre can be reached through the
